A Behavioral Staycation is an intensive training experience designed to put a stop to unwanted, problematic behaviors and improve your relationship with your dog. Staycations at Destination Dog Training enable us to expertly overcome the difficulties you are experiencing with your dog, and maximize training results in a short period of time.
Beginning with the initial behavioral evaluation, we will collaboratively identify the challenges and problems (both big and small) you are currently facing with your dog. You will have the opportunity to provide us with a clear image of the lifestyle you live with your dog, and your goals for long term happiness and success. With this information in hand, we will develop a training program customized to overcome the behavioral problems, and designed to deliver a happy, calm, polite dog back to you.
During your dog's three - four week stay at Destination Dog Training, he or she will receive multiple training sessions per day, each aimed at overcoming your current problems, as well as creating an overall foundation for good manners and obedience in a wide range of situations and environments. In the house, out on walks, with people, with dogs, in public, or wherever your problems exist. Your dog will receive consistent exposure to those environments, each time learning a more appropriate way of behaving in the future.
Realizing, as well, the important role that you play in your dog’s long term success, we also spend time working with you, the owner! Throughout your dog's stay, you (and your family) will receive several hours of private, individualized, hands-on lessons. We will teach you the ins and outs of our proven training system. You will learn how to effectively communicate with your dog, manage difficult situations, and develop the tools to ensure your dog makes a seamless transition back into your home.
After your dog goes home, we will continue to provide you with the high quality, individualized guidance and support you need to see all of your long term goals become reality. Fine tuning things to make them a little smoother, introducing new skills, exploring new environments. By the end of this program you will have a dog with vastly improved behaviors and decision making skills, enabling them to handle anything that life throws your way.
